In the past they did nothing. There was the "occasional" loophole so as long as you weren't doing it year after year you had an out.
They it if it gets kicked out wait until January.
I don't see any convictions for violations. It's your property and if you need to sell to put food on the table so be it.

I'm no attorney or law enforcement so I'm purely speculating. My guess is, if they have a gun related charge on someone and they want to add to the charges to raise pressure, they can use this as additional source of harrassment. I don't think they're monitoring the number of sales by individuals in real time.

I had 6 selling transactions this year for a total of 6 guns. It has been a bit over a month since my last selling transaction.

I have yet to receive any mail about going over 5. Should I be expecting something?

Sounds like you're talking about an accessory charge, and yeeeeea those don't exist anymore.

My interpretation is that it is more of a guideline than a hard rule or set limit

I have gone over five a couple times in a year never in consecutive years though

What they charged those police officers who were selling off roster with was acting as a gun dealer without a license so theoretically they could come after you for something like that I imagine if you were habitual

THIS. The law is ONLY to stop people from engaging in the BUSINESS of selling firearms without a license.

                    PERIOD.

They have the SAME laws with cars as well. You are limited to selling 5 cars a year in CA.

If you're not selling firearms or cars in a manner that someone can look at your history and say that you're conducting sales as a business.....then you're fine.

I have not heard of anyone being convicted of completing 6 handgun transactions or being denied trying to complete the 6th one...

The only time where I’m like oooh okay seller...
Is when theres an ad that has something like “5 bnib gen 5 G19’s for sale!” Its like okay what possessed you to buy 5 of the same exact gun that fetches a high resale value, never shoot them, and then have them for sale at the same time? Not that I care but it’s interesting.

According to SB-376 FIREARMS TRANSFERS, we are limited to less than 6 firearms transactions per calendar year regardless of it/they being handgun or rifle.
Within the text it states that within those 6 transactions, a person is limited to 50 guns sales.
This, according to the bill was effective January 2020.

According to https://www.reddit.com/r/CAguns/comm...er_of_private/ DOJ will deny PPTs if the magical number of 5 transactions in a calendar year is exceeded.
