Help me price a couple firearms.

So as I was purchasing a item off craigslist, the person that I bought it from happened to be a retired Leo with 30+ years on the force...

for some reason I must give off a very friendly vibe, he proceeded to tell me a good amount of his inventory, and show me his inventory, and gave me a early "dibs" option should I want any of his cases and cases of various ammo or firearms.(I told him he should keep them as he told me he doesn't reload)

He asked me if I am looking to purchase any firearms, and I told him maybe revolvers.
Without going too much into detail, he told me he had 2 sw revolvers and few colts he can part with between 3 to 6 inches. Both no dash? on the sw. As we were talking about possible price, he assumes current good revolvers new costs about $450... i told him possibly next time for now.

    The sw revolvers are:

SW model 19 and SW 681.

Are these collectable? Good revolvers? Possible fair ppt pricing?

Sorry for story, I figured it was good to share.

A S&W no dash model 19 is a very collectible revolver. Value and price would depend on condition. In good + condition, I would happily pay upwards of $1000.00.

The 681 while collectible is not in the same league as the 19.

I think this forum needs a bidding thread.

Here's a current action to a 681 No-dash. Keep an eye on it to see where it ends.

As for the No-Dash 19 depending on condition it could go for well north of $1000.
            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Ok thanks. I will attempt to offer the seller a fair price.

Either buy the 681 or tell me where I can!

He might be throwing out some low $ to get you to take some junky stuff off him for “cheap”, hoping you will be so giddy to be “getting a good price” that you don’t look at the stuff super carefully

Absolutely glom onto that M19, for any *reasonable* price.

                    *edit - I was thinking the 681 was a .22, but it’s a stainless L-Frame .357 with fixed sights... YES PLZ!
