I hope the person in question pursues it legally. It will definitely make for a test case. Hopefully it was a grower with ALOT of cash sitting around looking for a place to be spent.

He also noted in his comments that the flash hider in that photo was not on the rifle when the incident occurred.

Would be interesting to see the police report..
            Doesn't Mendocino issue evidence receipts?
I don't know who to believe...

Something isn't adding up, if a cop actually took a compliant gun then you need to lawyer up and file for return of the rifle.

Sounds to me like something is wrong here though, prohibited person comes to mind.

I have been stopped by the police many times (I had a lead foot). None of the stops warrented a search. I have been asked if I would allow them to search my car on about 25% of those stops. I agreed to about 50% of those request. Mostly when I was way younger. Nothing to hide then or now.

So the redit post seems legit to me.

Sorry, there is more to this story. And the guy sounds a like a real knuckle dagger.

something doesn't add up & I am sure that there is a critical piece of information missing, not to mention he was probably a DB to the officer... and he shouldn't be posting it ether, needs to contact a lawyer and delete everything.

I do admit that I am a bit curious as to how that fin was attached and if that stock folds
