Brass catchers

I have one of the velcro-mounted type. When I first started using it, it would eventually shift due to weight and start causing ejection malfunctions. I ended up leaving the zipper open so that brass didn't stay collected in the bag but rather would slowly come out onto the shooting bench for easy collection. It is much less problematic now that I leave it unzipped.

I use both the Caldwell brass catcher that attaches to the picatinny rail and the Caldwell that looks like the one you have picture. Both do a great job and will not scratch your rifle.

I personally want to modify it to do this. As minimal of material as possible just enough to get the casing to drop near me. I wonder if theres a mod that helps redirect where the brass gets deflected to or I'll just cut the brass catcher up to the ejection port

Or get one of these, brass goes either down or drops lightly forward.

I dived right in to this $200 contraption from Tactical Brass Recovery: https://www.tacticalbrassrecovery.com/

It mounts to the vertical pic rail of your front handguard, can be swing around, and has a bottom zipper for easy removal. When I bought it a number of years ago, I don't recall it being $229 - I thought it was more in the $160~ range. The current price is probably beyond what I would spend for a brass catcher, but I've never had it cause ejection failures.
