    Gripe Against PSA

I live in the Palmetto State now and I've gotta say, I am not much of a fan of Palmetto State Armory.

First off, I've picked up 2 firearms from them over the last month and they have charged me $17 shipping on both orders to send them to their own store from their warehouse in Columbia to their Greenville store, which is about the distance from San Berdoo to LA. I don't like paying the $17 a pop to buy a firearm from them online and have them shipped to their own store where I FFL them.

Second, The Saturday when Joe Biden was declared in the media the winner, PSA immediately raised their prices on their standard AR15s from $570 to $700, the price of their lowers jumped about $50 each, the price of their uppers went up about $75 each and the price of their AR15 parts all jumped up.

Third, I've been following their online stock daily and some of the more popular models like their 7.5" 300BLK and all their AKs were out of stock for a couple months from September until mid November when they raised prices, then all of a sudden, they've got them in stock frequently.

Fourth, I gave them my CCW permit and with a CCW, you don't have to 4473 a firearm in this state. The CCW proves that I am a legal gun owner, and if I had some legal issue where I can't buy a firearm, the local LEO would be at my door to take my CCW away from me pronto. I've transferred 2 other firearms I've bought online at my local shop with no 4473 in the same time period.

Fifth, their "Black Friday Deals" had a couple complete uppers priced at great prices. I jumped out of my seat and was ready to buy, until i realized the "deals" on the uppers were $229 for a 16" 300BLK upper WITHOUT THE BCG/Charging Handle and the 10.5" upper was $279 WITHOUT THE BCG/Charging Handle. So basically, the BCG&CH would run about $170 normally, and they took them out of their standard complete uppers and then charged the SAME PRICE as they would be normally. So that $229 upper without the $170 BCG/CH which was normally $399, was still $399, only their customers would be tricked into a "Black Friday Deal"....

I understand the beauty of free market Capitalism and appreciate it, but I feel like they're taking advantage of the customer based on the situation. I know we all should have stocked up beforehand, and PSA is great for cheaply priced AR builds, but I feel they're taking advantage of the situation.

I've bought 2 firearms from Sportsman's Warehouse and they have never raised their prices based on the circumstances or charged shipping to one of their own stores from an online order, and I see they've got shops in Corona, the Central Valley, Sac and Redding. I would highly recommend them.

I've paid the $17 a pop shipping from PSA, but when things calm down, I don't like the way they've gouged the consumers based on the circumstances and will remember the way they did business.

You couldn't go to their store and ordered/bought it there to circumvent the $17? Kinda messed up they do that but even Turners does that.

If they are firearms that are hard to find or were on sale, surly sellout quickly or required you to stand in line for hours, $17 is a small price to pay to ensure you secured yours.

Try to get an H&K VP9SK these days. They're gone within an hour or so of being listed on Sportsman's, GunPrime, Buds, Rural King, Preppers Gun Shop, Grab A Gun, etc.

I spent 2 months checking 15 online gun shops every day, multiple times a day, to finally track down my HK VP9SK....

These days, if you have a specific model in mind, you have to jump on it.

PSA was selling 15+ of the specific lower I wanted every day, and their store here in Greenville is cleaned out, and try to find a Glock 29 that doesn't get bought up within hours... It's the $17 extra price I paid, but like I said, when things calm down, I will remember PSA's business practices. I picked up said lower for $264 after that $17 shipping and tax, but now they're running $330 shipped and taxed...

If I were in the market for a "California Roster Approved" S&W Shield that are still plentiful, I wouldn't be complaining right now.

They gotta pay for their Remington purchase, reorg and ramp up production on ammo. Maybe they are paying workers more? But yeah, unbelievable deals don't last forever. They made a name for themselves and it's time to reap the rewards.

about 10+ months ago they had to have the lowest prices and still were not selling out of things now they raised their prices a little with lots of uncertainty in the markets.
I dont have any issues with firearm companies, vendors, dealers etc doing just that right now. With the stroke of a pen we could have a AWB on the books which could kill many companies overnight.
Would it pass muster in court NO, but it is a possibility with Biden/ kamala...

So how are they going to get from Columbia to Greenville? Hitchhike? It costs money to transport stuff.

They raised prices when everyone else did? That's called free market. Did you complain a year ago when their prices went down?

Yuck, you said the T word, lol. Haven't bought a gun from them in a few years but I've never been charged any fee's to get something from the warehouse or another store. No surprise though, the reason I don't shop there is their greed and deceptive advertising.

Check out field #29 on the 4473. Dealer checks that box if no background check (NICS) is required.

                      Form is still required though.

Your local shop might want to get straight with the law.

Yeah, that $17 thing is dumb. That said, I've never had a problem with them, and... I feel like everyone else is doing the same, but worse? Check out ammo prices/availability, gun prices/availability everywhere. It's nuts. PSA ships ammo to C&R/FFL03 here in CA... so... going to stick with them.

I bought some lowers from them a couple of years ago when they were something absurd, like 25.00 each. Mind you my out the door cost was still very well below what I’d pay buying a stripped lower at an LGA, but what got me with PSA is they charged me 45.00 because “each one has to go individually” or something, then of course it came in one box ground.

I also once got a bcg that’s finish was like 200 grit sand paper. It wasn’t a blemished one. It functions fine and I knew it would but they had no interest in making it right.

I’d still buy from them, but they are what they are.

$17 from Columbia to Greenville?!?! That's an hour's jog up 26 to 385; did they put it on the front seat of am air-conditioned limo?
