Normal cost for guns here in CA?

I'm new to guns and I am looking to buy my first gun. I'm not in any hurry to buy a gun and I'm not sure what pricings on guns I should be looking for.

What is considered the normal cost for guns in CA? The gun store had a CZ75B available a couple weeks ago but they were asking $850 for it. The MSRP on the CZ website for the CZ75B is $643. Is the higher price tag because of the pandemic? If yes, once everything normalizes again like before the pandemic... what prices should I expect from gun store dealers in CA? Should guns be below the MSRP pricings or about the same or higher?

    Thanks.

I wouldn't expect anything for below MSRP for the next 6 months. It's Covid19. It's the elections. It's supply line issues. You couldn't have picked a worse time. But, be patient and you might find something.

My bro pays only 15 bucks in Texas for shipped firearm 4473. No dros, no wait, sometimes no sales tax if from ppt.

            .
I don't think anything is normal in Ca..
Look on GunBroker for your gun and have it shipped to your local FFL.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Yeah, was close to MSRP before the "beer situation" as Paul Harrell puts it.

During non-pandemic times, prices will usually be below MSRP at any sort of chain gun store or right at MSRP at smaller shops.

If Biden gets in, prices may go higher if (sorry, when) he tries to establish more gun control.

Get one gun at a decent price before they ban all the good stuff.

Look for a deal here, but you have to check often and be ready to buy, the good deals are taken quickly.

The normal price for a handgun in CA, is EXACTLY what someone will pay / pay you, for it.

Too many factors involved now. Pre Covid you can easily find a NIB CZ75B for around factory MSRP.

You won't save buying an on roster gun off the internet at this time either. FFLs can charge you whatever they want to receive your gun. Some are as low as $25 and others as high as $150. They also hit you for sales tax. Some FFLs will skip the sales tax if there is a note that it is and occasional sale between private parties.

No DROS fee here in OK. When I went in two different gun stores looking/buying and asked about DROS they looked at me with a puzzled look and said all you pay for is the gun and sales tax.
