"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Not everybody.
I made the mistake of buying a LOT of Aguila .308 Win from Sportsman's, and must have got a bad batch.
One box had 7 out of 20 FTF out of my M1A, another box had 2 or 3 FTF when I used my Savage.
I'd love to offload this crap, but I'm not going to pawn it off on some unsuspecting buyer. THAT would be unethical.
That being said, OP, what you are talking about is called "capitalism."
"Law of supply and demand."
Unless it was stored improperly, vintage ammo still goes bang. In many cases decades later.
You don't like it, then don't buy it.
There is NOTHING unethical about striking when the iron is hot.sigpicComment

You shouldn't be mad at them. They're just listing their personally-owned goods for prices that panic-buyers are currently willing to pay.
I see from your join date you're pretty new around here, although I don't claim to know how long you've been a part of the shooting world. Something you'll come to learn when you spend enough time in communities like this one is that you need to stockpile as much ammo as you can when prices are cheap. The market is cyclical and we do go through shortages like this every few years.
When ammo drops back down to around $199/case of 9mm and $249/case of .223, you should consider buying a case with every paycheck. You'll be set in no time.Comment

LOL at being afraid of 30 year old JHP. That's 1990. Most of the JHP ammo I have is older than that. I have 100% confidence in that factory ammo.
This isn't arfcom. Ammo isn't bananas, it doesn't go bad after a year or two.Comment
