Friend of mine had one. I don't think they were ever made open bolt in semi, and his was a machine gun conversion. Ridiculous gun. It fired at about 1400 rounds per minute. He had a very educated machine gun trigger finger, and he usually couldn't get less than 4 rounds in a burst. He can get singles and doubles in an M11/9. The little hump in the stock whacks your cheek pretty good in full auto.

He kept it less than a year and traded it on an MP5-SD with collapsing stock.

Yes, you are correct. Closed bolt then. Had a full sized semi and it was a bit heavy for 9mm.

I want for some things, but it doesnt feel right just acquiring stuff just because. I have what I need, and more. I'm good. If I get an itch for an expensive gun, I'll buy a plane ticket to Bangkok and have a 1 week bender. When I get back, I'll be good.

I may still want another firearm, if there is another aspect this hobby I get interested in, that benefits from a special purpose firearm.

EDIT: I take that back. I still need a 300 blackout SBR in my life.

After more thought I would have to say it is likely not true for most of us that there is not just one more gun that we always wanted but never have gotten even if we believe that. I suspect for over 99% of us if we ever did finally acquire THAT ONE gun we always wanted, in no time we would be thinking about some other gun we always wanted... and so repeats the cycle.
