Also, I have to add, this appears to be a privately organized event not necessarily open to the public at large. It just happens to take place in public. It's kind of like having your kid's birthday party at the park. Just because it's in public doesn't mean that you want everyone and their LE mother to join you for the BBQ.

I personally don't see a problem with pre-screening people who wish to join. The event is to further a cause, and you want people joining who will help you further that cause.

I seriously doubt we'd let an anti-gun protestor join the gathering, right? But in precluding this person, are we being wrongfully discriminating? I tend to think not.

              add to the list:

              4. $50,000+ of disposable cash for legal defense.

Don't count on having someone else foot the bill.

lol @ your 312 posts vouching for his 319?

Asgalindez is good to go, on this or anything else. I don't believe in people needing to be "vouched for" for stuff like this, but if the case was that he wanted to go and needed it I've got him covered.

I'm interested in coming depending on date/location. I have so few days off, and don't really feel like requesting a day off for this when I have other stuff coming up. But I would like to make it to one of the UOC thingies and meet a few of you guys.

Asgalindez is G2G. Macadelic4 is just joking around, he is a personal friend of mine.

Lorax, you have been sent a "save the date" already, if I am not mistaken.

Asgalindez and slick_711, send me an email or PM me with your email address so I can get you on the list.

For all those adding to this thread, SEND AN EMAIL OR PM WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS SO I CAN ADD YOU TO THE LIST! I don't want to have to keep checking this thread like a neurotic rabbit.

These outings are entirely safe and MOST of the SDPD is well versed in the UOC routine. However, having cash on hand for defense is not a bad thing to have.

Of course, I tease. Anyone willing to publicly state they have an interest in attending a UOC event is G2G in my eyes.

I don't know if I mentioned the idea to him yet, but I think pullnshoot and I will be working out a survival kit of fliers, business cards, PD memos, etc. that we would like groups to carry so that civvies and LEOs who aren't in the know can get some info. Stay tuned!

Correctamundo. There is a lot of stuff that we are prepping for. This is going to be a good event.

I would say read the below thread, and related threads, and rethink "not a bad idea" vs "necessary"
