True, you are losing about 10 dollars on it from that standpoint. Its still cool, would be awesome if they made more obscure rounds too.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

I've got several 45, 12g, 308, 50bmg and 20mm silver pieces. Yea, they cost more than but...I like them.

Huh, and looking at the price of that one, I don't remember exactly how much I paid, but it wasn't that much over spot. It was a couple bucks, but certainly not ten.

Sure, I will invest in silver and pay 50% above value because it is shaped like a bullet.

+$10 is worth the novelty imho.

Now, if anyone wants to flash the scrilla and show off: silver army men @ $235ea (1.25oz)!

That's what I sort of thought. Paladin always seemed to be in sort of that time when the west was ending. Maybe around the time of Butch & Sundance?

Well... you know... it's not really listed as an investment.

Sure, you'll pay a bit more but you have something cool you can fondle & enjoy. I may buy one or two as gifts, maybe keep one for myself.

The stuff this dredged up. Got me to thinking...

Was the Lone Ranger's shootin' ammo silver or just the souveniers he handed out?

Were the cases silver? Would silver be strong enough to contain even a black powder load?

Did they have nickel plating back then?

Would the Lone Ranger be shooting black powder? Paladin had special loads custom made with that newfangled smokeless powder.

Was the Lone Ranger a contemporary to Paladin?

I went to the dentist today & she gave me some Vicodin.
The Lone Ranger used silver bullets because he believed there should be a cost for taking a mans life.

geez, premium over spot looks about $10 an oz, even on the 50 cal.

Like many Westerns, the [HGWT] television show is set in a nebulous time period, after the Civil War
So was the Lone Ranger. They both carried 1873 Colts.

The Lone Ranger used silver bullets because he believed there should be a cost for taking a mans life.
The Lone Ranger never killed anybody.

Off topic.. But do you know what Tonto means?
I know what it means in Spanish. But I don't know of any Native Peoples that spoke Spanish. And I don't know what it means in his tribal language. Or even what tribe he was. Do you?

Did they have nickel plating back then?
YES. Nickle plating predated even percussion cap firearms.

Relying on Volta's voltaic pile as a main source of electricity, the Italian chemist Luigi Brugnatelli invented electroplating in 1805.

                                By gum, so they did!

I wonder if the writers for both made a conscious decision for a period-specific weapon, or if the command was 'He's kind of a cowboy, give him a cowboy gun'. Good choice either way but hard to figure the 'storyline when'. Wiki has Winchester 1892 rifles in the show; 1892 really doesn't fit the conditions I remember - but then Saturday morning LR was never supposed to be historical, I guess, and, at 8 years old, I'm sure I wasn't paying that much attention.

But anyway, TnTzDad, I offer my apologies for dragging this into old TV shows.
