In the meantime, you can buy surplus police level IIIa for under $300 shipped. About 7mm thick, flexible, concealable and comfortable and fairly lightweight.
Thats good to know though. Sounds like a good buy. Anybody know about the shelf life on it? I know kevlar degrades over time, especially with moisture...

It seems like it takes a lot of time to degrade woven kevlar.

there is NIJ and other testing on 10 and 20 year old kevlar finding no distinguishable difference from new.

For rifle protection, you will need a plate of some sort. Or, hopefully OP invents something!

How about protection from a ricochet around of rifle ammo? I imagine it would have lost a lot of its energy any findings on that?

That's a roll of the dice,

direct hit rifle goes through soft armor like hot knife/butter

most likely a ricochet will be defeated or reduced but even with a rated pistol round, there will probably be some injury, busing at the least.

Images of a book that a YouTuber held minutes before he was shot dead by his girlfriend in an ill-advised stunt have been released by prosecutors in Minnesota.

I find it hard to joke about that story, it's incredibly stupid but also a sad situation. How can people be that stupid??
