That would be a neat solution. Thoughts?
Just stick a towel in the bottom of the bag. It breaks up the shape. The straps don’t break and it carries fine. And seriously, where the hell are you going with a AR/AK pistol in a backpack? It has to be locked and the lock is a dead give away.

A gym bag looks less weird with a lock on it.

There are more and more options for less obviously tactical looking bags/backpacks. I was considering this Stealth backpack:

This Vertx Ready Pack 2.0 fits an 8" 300 Blackout Pistol with Law Tactical folder very well:

I'm not. I'm participating in conversation. Someone else started. It's the literal title of the thread. Up there.

Even better would be a stroller, that was you can tote an ammo can along and none would be the wiser.

Cashier: "Sir, would you like a tennis racket to go with your bag?"

Me: "No, thank you Ma'am. I already have a tennis racket."

Fits in there perfect even with full size magazine inserted.

                    Thule paramount rolltop backpack.
It has a zipper, so when you don't roll the top, you get an extra 6" of length.
Measures 22" diagonal fully extended. And there is a side zipper access to the main laptop compartment.

Not recently. You have folks here from all over the US. A lot of of once lived in California and moved away.

So it's safe to assume the audience on calguns are from all over, not just California.

I used to be a California resident and moved out of California. So I don't follow California law for anything. I literally don't recognize California law as nothing more than written down garbage. Even when I am traveling in California. I don't respect California law and will never follow it.

What's sad is a lot of San Diego County Sheriffs don't even know that suppressors are federally mandated and BATF paperwork must be filed. I talked to a bunch that thought the CDOJ approved them for civilians. Simply laughable. That's all anyone with a brain needs to know about California law enforcement trying to enforce laws.

I like the diaper bag and fabric dog carrier ideas. You'd have to make sure there's a way to lock the bags for CA.

No one wants to steal a used diaper bag or dog carrier. Nothing valuable in them.
