What is the code on their model numbers? What's the difference between V7 or V5 or whatever?

I don't think DD is producing the V5 anymore. But typically they had quadrails while the V7 has M-LOK and the V11's are keymod.

which one is better v7 or v11? i think v11 is slimmer with slightly less weight but v7 is more popular?

I always wanted one but was hoping for the price to come down back to $1600s for a new one.
Is it really that hard to find a new DDM4 these days? Is that a good price?
I bought my SBR DDMK18 Mil spec +/fde for $1899 shipped with tax. They are available in free states but the pistol and sbr are now $2000+. As high as $2499.

I also didn't want the MK18 label on the upper so had Daniel Defense ship a complete mil spec + fde upper labeled ddm4v7 instead of ddmk18. And didn't want it pronounced. So it's very subtle.

They are out there. Check armslist, ar15.com etc

I feel sorry for people just getting in to firearms at these current criminal prices though. I paid around $1500 for each of mine.

I love my SBR and pistol.

They are the exact same rifle except for the handguards. I don't know how slim the V11 handguards are because I've never owned one. But I can tell you the V7's are very slim. The slimmest of all my AR's and I have eight. To be honest I wouldn't even want them any slimmer.

Aftermarket manufacturers are producing more accessories for M-LOK rather than keymod so that's probably why the V7 is more popular.

Were you embarrassed to get the legendary Mk18 insignia? jk. A mk18 upper was on my wishlist pre covid...I don't know when I will be able to get one in the foreseeable future.

Is it black or coated or painted? That's a little high maybe 200 for black, but given the difficulty of finding one in stock, I'd go for it if you want a quality rifle that you'll be able to keep forever and possibly pass on to your kids.

They come in two barrels, the light barrel and the medium Mil type barrel profile. Either one is CHF and DD makes them in their own forging machines. I like the lighter profile (I bought that barrel and their BCG for one of my builds). I also bought a complete DDM4V7 as a gift to a close friend.

The MFR rail is super nice too and has a superior mount. You want a Mlok rail, not keymod.

The rails are excellent as is the BCG. Just a really nice rifle. I'd get the V7. Everyone knows the V7, its duty quality.

                  Get it, before its gone.

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

I purchased a DDM4V7 in April for $2K. No regrets. Virtually zero malfunctions so far. Ran Vmax, FTX, .223, 5.56, m855. Ran all great with very similar zeros within 100yrds.

Currently paired with a Vortex Razor 1-10. Awesome setup!

Weird, why would someone NOT want the Mk18 mark? That is a sufficient reason to have your Man Card revoked, and replaced with a Tinker Bell card. LOL

Buy once cry once. You won't see it for $1600 for the crisis we are in. It might be gone now

You've got it backwards; the V7 is slimmer & lighter weight. v7 is MLOK, v11 is Keymod.

The DD M4 v7 is one of my all-time favorite rails. It's just beautiful.

OP: I add my opinion with the "do not pass go, do not do anything else other than go back & grab that gun ASAP" camp!

As others have stated; sure the price is a little higher than it used to be, but what isn't?

Given the state of the world today, you're lucky to find one at any price at all.
$2k is reasonable; as others stated, sure it's a few hundred more than it was a year or 2 ago, but...... I'd buy it if I were you.
