It happened at the semi auto silhouette match at Sac Valley today. I was spotting for another shooter. Sitting next to him on his right, looking through the spotting scope when he fired his shot. His brass deflector with the rubber bumper had come off before today and he wasn't sure how to put it back on.

Instead of the brass hitting it and going flying forward, it came back at a 45 degree angle after being ejected. He turned to look at me to see where I would mark his shot and says "your bleeding". Sure enough. It bled pretty good too. I felt it hit but it only stung for a second.

I was less than 3 feet from the rifle. Considering a Ljungman will throw the brass about 20-30 feet AFTER it hits the rubber bumper, it has pretty good velocity that close.

I sat on his left side for the rest of the match

I'm going to coin a new phrase: Ljungman cheek!

Rob- My son had the same thing happen to him when I first took him shooting. I was shooting a 10-22 and the hot brass landed on his lower lip and seared itself there. I reached over and peeled the brass off his lip and he didn't even flinch. Then he asked if it was his turn. New I had a shooter then and there.
In any type of fight, & especially gun fights, there are no winners ..... just varying degrees of losers. The only fight you win is the one you never get into.

& all this time I'm thinking, your wife did it after she saw the reciept from the ammo you purchased...
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.
