No official exit process as already mentioned, however some people will sell off their registered firearms (all handguns/long guns post 2014) before moving as they are still tied to your name if/when you decide to sell in the future at new location. Free States don't register anything so there is no official record afaik. I may be mistaken on the specifics but I think that is the reason people will sell before moving.

Thanks for all of the replies. The commonly mentioned "sell" your off rosters before leaving has a nice ring to it. Moving a family of four ain't cheap...

I do not own any AW's, just some off roster pistols and numerous long guns. From what I read in NV's laws, I just show up and enjoy my freedom.
Firstly, you're not required to do anything. Secondly, if you want to "technically exit the registration database", you'd need to fill out a doj "no longer in possession" form. The kicker is that you have to provide a copy of your new state ID with new address. Do you really want them to know where you live? Screw them. I bet all they do is update the record of sale or transfer with your new address as being "last known possessor".

Personally, I'd sell every registered gun you own. They're worth way more in CA and (once the panic goes away) you can buy new stuff cheaper in nv. That way you make $$$ and know for certain you no longer exist in the state registry. Alternatively, you could transfer them all to a family member.

Replying to craigslist for casual encounters is like pokemon with STDs. Gotta catch em all
If Hell ever needed a operations manual all it would need is a copy of California's laws

You might have a problem moving reloading powder or ammo in a commercial moving vehicle. You have to follow whatever laws apply to truckers when moving powder or ammo.

Please keep in mind that the "No Longer in Possession" report does not remove you from the database. All of your DROS and registration information stills remains in the AFS database. All the NIP form does is to create an additional record that your reported the weapon was no longer in your possession.

You are not allowed to transfer guns from CA to NV.

                    Leave them with me.

Pull all the CA-compliant crap off your firearms BEFORE you leave. Toss it out the window before you cross the state line.

Excremento is working on an exit tax like airports use.
