The .22 Obama bandits can’t even make a buck these days, I guess it is that bad.

In the next 3 weeks things will get exciting, not what I really want but hey it's what we have. I'm glad I'm a tight @ss that picks up brass from where ever I find it or picks up lead where ever I find it. A pinch of powder and a cast bullet will be nice to have as long as you have primers to use. I don't see people leaving their brass laying on the ground much. People will regret not paying attention to things, maybe it will last for more than a week this time.

Have you seen what people are asking for SPP lately? 10 cents a primer. It used to be 10 cents a 9mm round. Totally nuts.

Executive orders alone could freeze up ammo production and distribution to commercial markets. Theres a whole lot of damage the POTUS could do to the 2A. It would take years to challenge in court.

If you want a secure job, go work for an ammo company. That's crazy.

How much did 9mm ammo prices increase when Bush -> Obama and for how long?

The ‘learn to reload’ folks haven’t noticed that bulk primers are nowhere to be found.

a few months back people were saying that many manufacturers were not adding new machines, for a couple of reasons. 1st, no point in doing that if there aren't enough raw materials to feed them (due to covid related supply chain disruptions). 2nd, too many manufacturers got burned by ramping up too much the last time this happened, and ending up getting stuck with inventory that was expensive to warehouse.

but the latest i've heard is that the supply chain issues are getting sorted out, and that at least some manufacturers are adding capacity now, signalling that they think demand is going to remain elevated long enough to justify the expense.

even so, and even if trump wins, it could still take a loooong time to catch up. i don't want to think about what happens if he doesn't (for too many reasons to mention).

I've seen several of these ups and downs in ammo supply based-on who's in the White House, but I am somewhat skeptical of shortages in 9mm, 5.56 and 7.62 NATO bullets.

As we've been fighting wars for the past 20-years, there should be an overabundance of these calibers since the Gub'mint procures rifle/MG ammo in the billions of rounds.

Since Prez Trump has been winding-down forces overseas, there should be surplus ammo or ammo manufacturers with overcapacity hitting the retail channels. And while I understand gun owners are still going nuts, are crazies able to absorb that much ammunition?

Well now a round goes for .50 to .80, sometimes a dollar. Prices remain proportional.

As I mentioned before, Olin runs Lake City now. They don't sell commercially like Federal did. Wartime capacity is not available to the public.

The government demils ammunition, it isn't sold as complete rounds any more. If there is any .30 carbine or .30M2 still held the CMP might get it but I think they already got everything the military knew it had.
