Find a gunsmith. Even if your sg got to Remington, you might not get it back.

Aaaaand, they just furloughed their labor force too

OC is a big county but try bolsa if you're close enough and cross your fingers parts are available if needed..

Trusted since 1964, Bolsa Gunsmithing offers firearm sales, repair, consignment, storage, and custom gunsmith services in Orange County, California.
I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it

It's not broken just poorly finished.
Lots of 870s with rough chambers it's pretty sad conversion it's a great shotgun.
They probably meant they would send you a return shipping label and you drop it off.
Some steel will on a cleaning rod chucked in your drill will smooth out the chamber too.

Remington 870s used to be the king of pump guns---dead nuts reliable---never break. Then, many moons ago, Remington started making their cheapass 870 "Express" to a low price point and everything changed---for the worst! Anybody who knows guns will tell you: "Buy an older 870, you won't regret it!" Older 870s now sell used for far more than when they were new!

My moss 500 broke once when I forced an extraction really hard. Turned out the tiny ejector screw had worked its way out and caused a block so me forcing it at the range with my friends during a reliability demonstration really embarrassed me. Good thing it was easy to fix. Now it's loctited.

Just call it a covid project and troubleshoot it on your own, plenty of YouTube info out there, take it apart, polish the internals and give it another whirl. I have a 870 20G Youth model from when I was a kid, it's a great gun. Good luck OP

I bought one of the "cheap ***" 870 Express 12 ga shotguns last year, works just fine. But I guess my cleaning and oiling it first before shooting was the difference. I think I'll keep my cheap *** 870 right next to my Winchester Mod 12.

I've got a couple of their home defense shotguns new in '09 as backups and put in storage. How was quality back then?

Never shot them, just put away if needed. I cycled shells through them at the time and they seemed to feed fine. Had no clue you had to be worried. They had a good reputation. What year did Remington go downhill?

OP - I can save you so much trouble. I had 4 870s that shells would stick in the chamber. Then, I bought a wing master. It did the same thing. ALL 5 guns went to Bolsa 3 times each.

                      Not one of them improved.

But, there is hope. They all failed on low base inexpensive rounds. If you buy high base shells made of brass, your guns will work. The aluminum low base shells get stuck.

Remington makes crap. My Benellis eat anything I give them. But, the 870s will work if you use high base brass shells.

You will be wasting your time sending them in, polishing and all that.

Thanks for the advice guys. I might consult a gunsmith and see what they have to say. If it ain’t worth it I might have a cheap shotgun for sale.
