To tell the truth, I'm backing off the whole military rifle scene until the ammo situation calms down. It is no fun anymore because if you do find ammo it's expensive. I'm looking to get back into mountain bikes, motocross and 4x4.

I think I saw a tear roll out of the barrel of my 1911 the other day. She gave me a look as though to say "Don't you love me anymore? Is your MKIII that much better than me? I see the way you've been looking at your mosins lately too..." I had to console her and explain it's not her, that I just can't feed her like I used to anymore. We curled up in bed and sobbed together for a bit while listening to Total Eclipse of the Heart. TUUUUUURN AROOOOOOOOUND BRIIIIIIIIGHT EEEEEEEEEYES!

I miss the Crossroads of the West gunshows at the LA Fairgrounds in Pomona.
I remember going to them in the late-'80s to the mid-90s, working the NRA booth to get in the show for free.

If by "sky is falling" you mean the threat of new anti-gun laws. That threat has been hanging over us for longer then most of us has been alive. The likly hood of such laws being passed goes in cycles. sometimes the likly hood is high, sometimes low. But it's been there for a long, long time. This time (unlike 1994) there is hope for the future and a real chance of rolling back some laws. This is something new in my life time.

The supply shortage. I am too young to remember the shortages because the Vietnam war, but I have talked to people who do. I do however remember the shortages and price spikes of 1994. In time the panic buying stopped, the prices dropped. So it's important to realize/remember supply issues also go in cycles and this too will pass.

Don't let it get you down. Don't let it "ruin" the hobby/sport for you. Things will get back to normal.

Yea one of the employees there goes to the Turlock walmart every morning and buys it all up.......Ill never buy a gun there again for that reason

Yeah, even only just a few years ago, things have changed a lot. Then again, from 08' to 09' was a significant change as well.
