Thinking about buying a 9mm Rifle

Looking for opinions on which route to go, PCC or AR9. Going to be mainly used for plinking, fun for my girls to shoot. Let's hear some thoughts!

Thinking about buying a 9mm Rifle

Freedom Ordinance PX-9. Solid and great price. Takes Glock mags.

Ruger PC9. If you own a 9mm Glock, the PC9 has an adapter which allows you to use Glock mags. Its fun to shoot with mild recoil.

+1 on the PCC 9. For plinking, and especially young shooters, no need for weird grip fins and mag locks.

I have the Ruger PCC free float American flag version and I love it. Its a perfect range toy. Personally, I wouldn’t want to teach a new shooter with a maglock or featureless gun. Mainly because that is not how the manufacturer or any sane person intended it be like. Your girls could also pick out their own magpul backpacker stocks when those come out. I think Magpul made a few different colors for the 10/22, so they should do the same for the PCC. It could be a fun way for them to personalize the gun when they go to shoot it. Mine is a lot heavier than I’d thought it’d be. This in turn makes the gun a soft shooter, but maybe look at the weight differences of the free float railed and the standard version. I think the take-down feature is great for a fun range gun. And if the girls ever fight over the gun, just split it in two and give them each a piece. Jk.

            Do you own 9mm pistols?

The ONLY way I'd buy a pistol-caliber carbine, is if I already had BUTTLOADS of hardball in that caliber. And preferably, if the carbine took pistol mags I already owned.

Now is NOT the time to try new firearms to waste ammo you don't have.

As the owner of a PC carbine, I have no interest in owning a 9mm AR. I'm very satisfied with mine.

The only two real drawbacks of the Ruger PC Carbine from a competition standpoint is the weight of the gun and the location of the mag release. Neither of those matter for your intended purpose. If I were you, I would definitely get a Ruger PC Carbine.

There is really only one answer unless you want to be stuck with a neutered AR platform, Ruger. However you're about 6 months too late with this idea, finding one on the shelf may be a challenge.

Very satisfied with my Ruger 9mm carbine. The take down feature makes for a small handy package for storage and transportation. Add a few of the Glock 24 round magazines and a red dot and it is a first rate home defense/field gun.

Ruger PCC is a blast and a "No Feature" rifle that is just care free. So BTW is the Marlin Camp Nine.

Both lots of fun for target and plinking.
