2-5. I usually like to stick to one caliber, but not a hard rule.
I like to group them by type or caliber or brand or something. Like .22 day, or 9mm day, .45acp day or CCW day. Glock day or Sig day, revolver day....Army Veteran 2/31st F.A., 101st Airborne

used to bring 4-10 per trip. But this quickly got annoying. All sorts of mags and ammo sucks.
Now I stick to 2 rifles and 2 handguns. So one rifle bag and my range bag.
Im also the only guy with all the steel targets, mounts, stands, and IDPA cardboard cutout stands. So my trunk is always full."Ya dude just bought my 67th gun today"......sigpicComment

I only shoot at a secret outdoor spot or private property. Both just an hour away.
More than 4 guns is a pain in the *** for several reasons.
Some people make a whole day out of shooting and don't get to do it that often so I can see taking more. I usually wont be out for more than 90 minutes.Comment

When Twin Sisters was open I'd usually bring all of them and at that time I only had 5. I've doubled that since then. I usually go to Concord now, I can shoot Clay on base so the shotty says home. I usually bring about 4 or five. The marlin .32 special stays home cause it's a family heirloom, the 22s (handgun & rifle) stay so I can keep ammo. The rest depends on time and ammo supplies available.I"m just a PA native trying to understand CA laws
