I agree - firing my Sig P230 is so much more fun than the Walther PPK/S - that Walther is overrated - unpleasant pistol to shoot.

I'm going to second the CZ 83; nice guns to shoot, they're still relatively affordable, and surprisingly accurate.

My Sig P238 HD is super fun to shoot. It's the all stainless steel model, so it's a bit heavier than the alloy version and has very little recoil. It's accurate for what it is and I've never had a malfunction. I got 3 extra Sig magazines and traded out all the stock springs with MagGuts kits, so they are all now 7 rounds. Having 7 +1 Rounds with Underwood Extreme Penetrators or Extreme Defenders make this a pretty stout little 'pocket-able' self defense pistol. But I totally understand it's not enough for a lot of people.

My .380 is a Model 1934 Beretta, made in '38. It's super simple and very reliable, and will eat any ammo you feed it, including hollow points of all types. Plenty available on Gunbroker. And it won't cost you a fortune.

However, like many smaller .380's, it will bite hard unless your grip is correct.

You like shooting your 380 1934 Beretta?

Do you have problems removing magazines?

Pretty much dislike shooting my 1934 Berettas as removing magazines is a major pain.

Guessing I don't know the quickest way to do a mag change on that pistol.

You can sell the .380acp ammo; next to 9mm, perhaps the most sought after cartridge in the country.

It's strange, after each high profile shooting and folks go nuts over ammo, .380 is the toughest to find.

And the Browning clone, the BDA 380. Also a Browning 1911 380 is something that might interest you. Not all the Walthers subject you to the hammer bite/railroad tracks. I've only experienced railroad tracks with an American made PPK made by Ranger. Never had the issue with my German and French marked PP's and PPK/s'. The Glock G42 is kind of fun to shot. The P238 took me awhile to get used to but a great carry weapon once you get used to it.

But it performs like it cost a whole lot more.

I have owned mine for quite a few years. No complaints at all and it is fun to shoot, as well as being accurate and reliable.

The Bersa is now off the roster. I think the Firestorm is still listed. Basically the same gun.

                      Yes, I do.

Mag changes are easy. Hold gun in right hand, hook left index finger on the mag extension, use left thumb to press backwards on the mag release and simultaneously pull the mag down with index finger. Easy. Quick.

+1 on a Beretta (84, 85). Especially if you don't like the G42, which is one of my favorite Glocks.

My brother has a Beretta 84 and it's really nice. Otherwise I'd also suggest the Bersa Firestorm is gtg. I had one for years and it's so much pistol for the price. I only got rid of the Bersa because I got a ppk/s, which as others have said is very over rated. The Bersa is a nicer shooter IMO, I just wanted a ppk in my collection, and I shoot enough .380 with my mouse guns. The P-238 being one of them. That's also an awesome .380. Whereas a lot of my family and friends don't like shooting my .380's because of the recoil the P-238 is really soft shooting.

Second the Beretta 84. I've had one for years.

I think I read recently that some 1911 maker was coming out with a full size 1911 in .380. I can't remember any other details though.
