    Check your magazines.

    Just a FYI.
I'm not new to firearms but made a mistake by not checking magazine's.
Bought some Magpul magazine's from Turner's seven months ago. Left them new in plastic.
Well decided to load some and one magazine made it to 7 rounds and split in half.
Just wanted to let the new guy know check your gear even if it's new.

Yep. I've owned PMags since '08 - series 1, M2, and M3 - several hundred (MOSTLY 30 rounders, but several dozen 20 rounders, and a 40 too) of them in fact, and never had an issue. Their CS is top-flite, though.

Just curious...what if they were freedom mags? Wouldn’t they be irreplaceable?

I remember buying a lot of 10 round magazines for my AKs - and just left them there for years - as I waited for the outcome - still waiting - magazine law.

Was surprised as hell when they don't even fit in the damn AKs.

Haven't even tried to trim them to see if I can get them to fit - since the 30's are still legal to bring to the range.

Did you buy single feed 10's?

This is my logic. When you bought the standard capacity magazine during freedom week it was stamped with the date and time when it was manufactured during or before freedom week making it legal to purchase. Sending it back for a replacement, there will be a new date and time when it was manufactured and it will be outside the time frame of freedom week making it illegal. Unless the manufacture can somehow fix/mold the same magazine back without replacing it. Can someone confirm my logic?

These are all registered assault weapons - Chinese manufactured AK types. Work fine with the 30 and 75 round type feeding devices.

These 10 round plastic/polymer mags I bought - to have no questions at the range - not sure what you mean by single feed - won't click into the weapons and I did not try to file on the magazines - yet. No way in hell I would file on the weapon - even if it was a WASR.

Some other poor sucker will have to get these 10 rounders to work after I die.

I have plenty of standard magazines to shoot with - in the meanwhile.
