And the concrete below. It's also located in a spot where it would be really hard to get a pry bar or pickaxe. Good luck getting it out before the cops arrive from the security monitoring system.

        Safe

I think we can all agree that as things are getting crazier by the hour, the chances of copycat behavior and other overreaction is very high.

Please, lock up and secure your guns, especially if you have children and/or young family members at home. I know it is an expensive item and it can be difficult to bring home. But it is very much needed right now. Ask for help if you must.

You don't want to find yourself in a situation where your unsecured firearm was used to harm or kill someone.

The safe is also a worthwhile investment as guns and ammo have become very hot commodities. The chances of theft are much higher.

        Be safe.

        Thanks,
Why is now any different? Regardless of the situation, gun owners should store firearms and ammo in a safe.

Or you can use one of those pesky locks that comes with each pistol you purchase.

I've had my safe for close to 30 years now. While the cost hurt the day I bought it, looking back and spreading that cost over 30 years, it has been an inexpensive-to-own and necessary asset.

Today, gun vault options are broader than 30 years ago, and they are actually less expensive today than 30 years ago, after adjusting for inflation.

Safes are good but ..... some of us need a walk-in vault. On the list for my near future retirement home.

In addition to a safe, get a home automation hub so you can put sensors in, on and around your safe. Any safe can be breached given adequate time, but having sensors lets you know if there is a security issue. You can also monitor things like temperature and humidity, control small heaters and dehumidifiers, etc. Even the dumbest safe can be made into a smart safe in minutes.

My safe is full of guns. There's no room for valuables like my silver coin collection. In fact, the last two rifles I bought are locked in individual cases. I don't have any space against a wall to put a new safe. That's the main reason I stopped buying guns in June.
Buying another safe is not a problem, I could order it tomorrow. I just have to work some things out first.

That's the most important part. Otherwise you've just collected your valuables in a nice, heavy box for the bad guys. My neighbor's 300lb safe in their master bedroom was tipped over and slid down their stairs (doing a lot of damage) and out their front door. A security camera installer told me about his customer who had his 1000lb safe stolen from his garage. It wasn't bolted down. The bad guys backed up a bobtail truck in the driveway, wrapped a cable around the safe and winched it onto the lift.
