Place bets on when gun & ammo shortages will stop

I was thinking about getting out of the 9mm caliber. I only have one Glock and a Ruger carbine. I was going to put it all up for sale as a package deal, factory boxes, mags, 2k+ ammo, clean brass and dies, red dot and light/lazer. I think I'll wait a few more months, I might need them.

NSSF seems to ball-park regular ammo shipments at 4-6 months after gun shortages catch up. I've a relative who's "up there" at CCI, he seems to more or less agree.


Plenty will pay whatever the price. You're not buying and you know what "they" say about opinions. Guns are not legally items required for life, and therefore state and/or federal laws relating to "gouging", as you put it, do not apply.

The COVID early panic is over and we saw the riots go, society hasn't collapsed and there's no zombie apocalypse. I say soon when people realize it's not the end of the world and Trump wins again.

If Trump wins, by February-March, 2021. In fact, we will start to see another slump with gun sales, and you will be able to see sales again and below msrp prices.

If Biden wins, and we still control the senate by a decent margin, I expect the same timeframe.

If Biden wins and democrats control house/senate, things will never be back to normal.

Civil War either outcome. If Trump wins very likely, Democrats will start a full scale civil war. Newsom will declare shutdowns and deem local gun stores "non-essential" and shut them all down. My take is ammo and firearm prices will NEVER be the same again.

Some estimates are that demand right now is 10x normal, but due to so many manufacturers losing money after ramping up production before 2016 then getting stuck with excess inventory, and not wanting to make the same mistake twice, it could take 4-6 years to get back to normal.

As per title, when do you think the shortages will end.
Also when do you think pricing will return somewhat back to normal.

Some predict the end of the year, others spring 21, others summer 21, then others say never........

My optimistic view is that shortages (especially ammo) will ease up by end fo year, pricing will likely take till mid next year.

Then again I really have no idea, but so see some items pop up from time to time.
