Broke my Glock (dumb guy needs help)

Hi CG-

I have a G 21Sf and I am far from a firearms expert. I was at the range yesterday and this part (which sat right above my trigger group) fell out. Wondering what it is and why it would simply fall out.

Again- I realize this is an ignorant question so thanks for the patience/help.

That is your ejector...might want to check internet for fix and/or upgrades.
I am sure the Glock boys will be along to help you out further

That’s an ejector and it somehow separated from the housing while you were shooting it. Wierd. Something must have grabbed it as the slide was moving forward back into the battery position.

Your ejector just fell out of the trigger housing?

There is a part number on the other side.

Those are easy to reinstall as with anything on a Glock. Do a little YouTube research and let me know if you need any tools or help.

Yes the Ejector. I would take it to a local Glock gunsmith to reinstall and go through your pistol; make sure there isn't something else wrong.

Until recently i didn't know the ejector can be removed from the housing not that it ever needs to be removed.

Call them they will ship it for a couple bucks. Your old housing may not have a good grip on the ejector anymore so this is what I would do.

How old is your Glock, how many rounds fired? You should also make sure your trigger housing pin is still in place. That ejector had to be drug out and that should not be able to happen if the parts are installed correctly.

If you are missing the trigger housing pin get another one (or two!) when you get the trigger housing. If your trigger housing pin has a loose fit in the frame, you may need to flare/peen the ends of the pin.

It's probably just a simple swap of the trigger housing. But if you really aren't a firearms expert, it wouldn't be a bad idea to let someone who is look at it and see what might have caused it. There could be something else wrong. Glock would take care of it if you ship it back to them and fix anything else, but it's pretty expensive to ship next day UPS or FedEx like a non-FFL has to ship handguns, probably over $100. Glock will pay return shipping.

+1 on replacing the trigger housing. Ejector is part of the trigger housing. With it falling out, I would question the integrity of the trigger housing itself.

bought new? take it to the shop it was purchased and have them fix it.
bought used? be more diligent with pre-sale inspection before buying.

luckily it's an easy fix either way...

Just kidding. Nothing to add but it is interesting that it would just "happen". Any signs of metal fatigue, scraping, mangling of parts? Seems you have your answer in the responses above already.

Thanks everyone. Figured it out. I slide it back into the trigger group but it slides right back out too easily. Going to replace the tigger group and tigger (want a flat face one anyhow). Thanks again.

Sounds like your frame could be damaged? The ejector is captured in place by part of the frame. (Based on what I see from G19/43/17/26...etc
