Seriously, buy what you like guys... Yeah I'm being a bit of a horsesass here (on purpose), but after we've seen what's happened over the world in the last 8 months or so I just hate to see us sending our American dollars to China after what has happened to our economy. People here need our money and there are alternatives for only a couple bucks more that are a far superior product.

Is Pelican overpriced? Yeah maybe, but it's a reputation and a name they earned and you don't earn it by making junk.

Has anybody tried this case for transporting handuns/magazines?
I'm wondering if there is a similar alternative but slimmer/shorter. (Not as deep). No I won't buy Pelican.

I have the same size in black. I cut it to hold two semi autos, a snubnose, and 8 mags. Very content with it. Also have the smaller cases, which are excellent for a single pistol up top with 4 mags below.

Go through all the pictures, the last 2 pics of this product will confirm non-US made case.
(The latches are the chinese common latches you see on HF cases and Sportsman Guide cases, and various other China cases)

Yea twist to lock/latch is their Seahorse cases they used as base, and the fingertip latches are either nanuk or pelican.

i have one and love it! getting almost the same quality as the pelican for cheap. only difference is if it gets run over by a car, it will break (unlike the pelican) but why would you let that happen lol.

I think that's an old generation of the apache case as well. The newer ones have the reinforcements in the hinge area that that case was lacking that he mentions.

I have the two rifle rolling case by apache I take to Alaska. Its on its third trip with no issues. I have pelican cases also and they are very comparable.
