Im looking at replacing my 24 rifle gun safe with a 50-60+ safe. Anyone have recommendations or where to look let me know. What say you cal guns?

How many rifles vs handguns? Have you considered removing shelves and using rifle rods or even retrofitting your safe with something like SecureIt tactical?

Im not going to move any shelves. I have a couple of other safes that im going to put stuff in. The Fatboy will be a huge up grade. I have another 40 gun safe out of state ill be moving in the future. I think im good for now. Now im just waiting for west coast to call saying they're ready to deliver and instal.

If you really have 60 guns to store, get the best fire-proofing you can get. That's a LOTTA investment, to cheap on the fireproofing!

Dont put all your eggs in one basket. Keep the 24 rifle safe and buy another real good safe and have two full safes...diversifies your risk...

That's what we did. I bought a Browning safe many years ago and when that one ran out of room, bought a second safe about the same size and bolted it to the floor in the closet in another room.

I like that idea. I've been thinking of buying a sort of decoy safe... Just a cheap stack-on with a little bit of cash in it, leave it pretty out in the open so a burglar would hopefully waste time and motivation opening that safe instead of my main one.

I wouldn't mess with a decoy myself personally. Our first safe is in the open (in the far back reaches of the house), our second is not in plain sight and somewhat difficult to get to (not sharing details here).

The security and fire resistance is very valuable for us. Not only for firearms but for documents and other irreplaceable items.

Then I can sell off all the safes I have.

My wife an I thought about a safe room but its not an option. We looked at the vault doors at west coast. I could put a vault room in my shop. that would be pretty bad ***. I might look into it. but 1200 sqft fills up quick with other stuff.
