My recent WTB worked out great for the seller and myself. I posted what I was looking for and was willing to pay a "fair" price. I'm not in a hurry, panicking or desperate.
I received a couple of fair offers. I don't believe either were listed for sale in the for sale section. Both were ON Roster models.
I wasn't looking to cheap out, and I wasn't looking to "get over" on anyone. But I just wasn't going to pay panic prices being that i'm not in a panic. It's not a need, it's a want.
I didn't negotiate, I payed the seller's asking price.
If you don't ask, you don't receive.

True "collectors" items are the exception. You wouldn't expect the guy who bought his Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing new in 1955 to not ask $1,000,000 for it would you?Comment

I had someone respond to my WTB ad asking me how much I wanted for the item.
When I told him it was a “WANT TO BUY” ad and NOT a FS ad his response was that I “was kind of misleading”

Now, People is desperate. I sold my benelli m4 full update before the outbreak for 2100. It will awhile. Now I seem people sale it 3000+ and gone with in days.

ive been collecting firearms for almost 40 years. bought in good times and bad times. struggled to make purchases years ago when money was tight so i made sacrifices. so for example the 1982 colt python i purchased for 350 or 400.00 in the mid 80s was a lot of money at the time and a struggle to come up with. i didnt feel bad selling it when the market was high at over 5 or 6 times what i paid for it. that price helped ease some of the sacrifices from back then. if the demand wasnt there i would still have it in my safe collecting dust. ive been telling my wife for over 35 years when purchasing firearms that they are an investment, so i never complain about someones asking price. if its out of line i just dont buy and move on. people have their reasons to buy and sellComment

Exactly.
I have seen Scar 16s WITH an Acog and 15 magazines for $2300 on the used market just yesterday.
I have seen a Scar 17s WITH an Acog and 30 mags for $2800.
This is what used/new Scars go for outside of privileged California.
Glocks are $300-$400 out of state as they should be. Glocks for me have always been the Hyundai of handguns.
I can go and on.
The truth is ammo is not in short supply where I purchase ammo and we pay free state prices for firearms. This is precovid and during covid.
I don't give a **** what the demand is in California. If you continue to pay stupid prices for ammo or a firearm then that's on you. Unfortunately folks will continue to charge you $2000 over retail and some dumb schmuck will continue to pay that. Sad.Last edited by Endless; 07-18-2020, 11:11 AM.Comment
