Simplex Mechanic Locks on Safes Recommendation, Feedback, Tips & Problems

CG community I need your help!

    1) Can the CG community recommend companies that sell safes, using only fast opening Simplex Mechanical Locks? I firmly believe the Simplex Mechanical Locks (e.g. https://www.ftknox.com/product-category/pistol-boxes/ ), are more dependable than all electronic locks/RFID readers. I am looking for safes that can fit two long guns and two to four handguns, either underbed or upright secured to studs in a wall.

    2) On a related note, has anyone ever bought a safe such as one of the following sized safes:
    a) https://www.secureitgunstorage.com/p...safe-model-47/
    b) https://monstervault.org/original-underbed-safe
    c) https://www.hornadysecurity.com/rapi...r-gunlocker#!/
and modified it from the factory installed mechanical lock, to a Simplex Mechanical lock? Would like to hear about your experiences.

    Thank you in advance!

V-Line gun cabinet. Well designed and made in the USA.

I have the shotgun wall mount lock from Shotlock. They also make handgun and AR wall mount locks too.

Wish the V-line made some cabinet safes that were not installed into a wall. This one in particular is the right size for my needs, but, it requires in-wall installation. https://www.vlineind.com/shop/closet...k-access-safe/ Unfortunately need one that can be secured/mounted to walls and uses Simplex buttons. Got any further suggestions?
This one looks to be the same size and is not an in-wall model...

The Rifle Case Home Defense Security Safe is made of sturdy 16ga. steel and designed to accommodate AR-15 type rifles. The Rifle Case can be easily hidden in a closet or behind a door for concealment purpose. Mounting can be in a horizontal or vertical position utilizing the pre-drilled ¼” holes in the bottom of the case. The Rifle Case is large enough to accommodate most AR’s with accessories. The primary lock is an Authentic SIMPLEX five push button mechanical lock which offers quick and easy access. This quick access lock does not require batteries that can fail or keys that can fall into the wrong hands. The combination is easy to set and change, with 1082 possible codes. The Rifle Case is powder coated in a textured low-gloss black finish. For additional security when quick access is not required, two tubular locks with keys are located in each corner of the case. Each case is line with foam and includes a Velcro strap to secure your weapon. " "

V line brute is great but overkill unless bolting to metal or concrete.

Sadly, it is currently sold out. The in-wall mounted version by V-Line is larger and allows shelving. Take a look it, the specs are a bit larger.

Saw it but is it too small need something larger that can fit a long gun too. If just two handguns I'd consider the Fort Knox pistol box https://www.ftknox.com/product/origi...cate-included/ Still really wish Fort Knox would create a longer version that can fit two long guns and two handguns. The only thing remotely close but not quite, really should open horizontally, is this version: https://www.ftknox.com/product/shot-gun-security-box/

I like the Simplex locks too. I have been using one daily for years with zero issues. I also have one electric lock which eats a 9 volt battery every month regardless of whether the safe is opened even only a few times. Need to replace that one...

Looked at the V line stuff and want the handgun model. Just can't figure out where to put it? Need a place where it won't be easily found but it close enough to have access to when things go bump in the night.

I have a Monster Vault under the bed but it does NOT have a Simplex on it, I wish it did.

I too share your concern that there is no Simplex Mechanics lock on Monster vaults; unfortunately without this feature, I did not buy it.

                          For all of CG members:
Has anyone swapped out electronic locks to a Simplex Mechanical Lock? Please share your experiences. Thank you!

Mine is labeled R&D Enterprises but looks just like the Fort Knox on Amazon. Bolted down to the metal structure thru the floor of our travel trailer.

This looks really cool. Do you think it could be torn from the wall if used to store a long gun (using gun as a lever)?
