I have enough guns and ammo. What I don't have are enough places to shoot them.

I've been very tempted to sell, especially considering how much profit can be had. That said, also don't want to be that guy who takes advantage of a bad situation and price gouges.

Also, I think the market may be a facade. Things may not return to normal for quite some time. I'd rather keep everything I have than give in to temptation and regret it later. Especially ammo...

          THIS

This enters into my thought processes - horror stories on sales and either having to cheap sale something to get it sold or bump it for six weeks.

          1. Compared to what?
          2. At what cost?
          3. What hard evidence do you have?

I sold stuff I was over with and bought new.

The ones I sold went for far more than they would have last year, and I only paid between 20 to 50 bucks more per gun at Rifle Gear on what I replaced them with.

Never sold before and recently sold 3 in a week! I really enjoyed meeting and dealing with Calgunners. I didn't price gouge, but still got a bit more than I had been expecting. Made some good connections, too.

Most of my guns if not all of them have some type of story and sentimental value to them so no selling for me. Sometimes I'll open the safe and look at old guns including the first ones I ever bought and I smile knowing I still have em.

If A G19x3 is now $700 as a norm wouldn't some other $400-500 dollar guns be up some too?
If you didn't buy them for some intrinsic collector value (like a Python), you don't ever use them, and you're confident that they don't suit you, then why bother keeping them? They just take up space. I know most people on here try to never sell, but I feel like if I never got rid of stuff I was 100% confident I didn't like to buy other guns, I never would have fully fleshed out all of my preferences. That's just me, though. I think I've only ever regretted selling two guns, my heavily modified M&P and my CZ 75b SAO w/factory flat trigger. Everything else I got rid of due to dislike, or has been replaced with something similar but better.

There are people straight desperate to get their hands on a gun right now due to how poor supply is and how high demand is, so think of it as you doing them a favor while getting to try out something new. You said it's just a few, so its not like you won't have anything in the meantime. Basically doing you and the buyer a favor, place an order for something nice in the meantime.

Every once in a while I think about selling my Glock 27, since it's the only .40 I own, and have no plans to buy others. Then I realize it hides so well under my work bench should the need arise while I'm in the shop, and that thought goes away for a few months.

Everything is for sale. I'm using this seller's market to get rid of all the stuff I hardly shoot and won't miss. Use the money to buy stuff I really like when things get back to normal. And they will..

There's better stuff in the market place than at stores!
I just browsed the other day and I rarely even look. I never buy from the market place.
I was tempted on a few things but I don't want to go to a store especially now during another lockdown it will be kind of a headache and not trying to get covid. But yeah really cool stuff and prices weren't bad that I could compare. If I wanted to buy something would check out the market place first.
2024 New Year?s resolution will be no posting..

i rarely sell anything because if i decided i wanted it back it would cost me more and most likely not be as nice as what I sold. I only own steel and wood and no plastic stuff when i can avoid it unless it was never made in steel and wood. But that is the difference between collecting and buying for utility/work purposes. but each to their own needs.

It could be a long time before things return to normal. I expect massive restrictions on a national level when the Democrats regain power. Ammo taxes or limits would make the inflated prices we're seeing today seem cheap.
