It was off somewhat, but still close to a 20 db reduction at the ear. If you're at the range you have to wear ear-pro anyway, and this thing seems like it wouldn't blast your neighbors like a regular muzzle brake. If I were stuck with kali laws I would definitely consider something like this.

Indoors it's going to be gawd-awful, but any unsilenced gun is. It won't be pleasant even with a silencer.
