Five sales transactions per year, can be multiple guns per transaction.
Limit of 50 per year total.

No longer just handguns long guns are included.

Also, if you are in the city of LA for a PPT, it counts for 1 in 30.

Is this true? They have been passing more restrictive laws that I lost track. Does this apply when you do the PPT in the City of LA or does this apply when you residence is in the City of LA?

What if I live in the City of LA but does the PPT in OC for example..does this count as 1 every 30days?

Shipping from out of state is not a PPT, so you can’t use the PPT exemption.
I believe 1 in 30 applies but I haven’t done it so I’m not certain.

You know transfers are not ppt ftf correct? If from within ca then you might not have to pay sales tax.

I also have an XDS 4.0 (PPT via purchase) DROSed at the same time with a M1A Standard (PPT via purchase) and an M1A Scout Squad (PPT via trade) from two separate DROSes at two separate shops on different days currently on the wait period. At the end of the month, I’ll be starting the DROS for a P2000SK from another OOS purchase that a shop is holding on for me. Id assume chances are likely the ATF will be contacting me due to all this? Best way to handle this if this does happen?
Federal laws/regulations require a FFL to notify BATFE whenever a person acquires more than 2 handguns within 5 business days and when a person, in CA/AZ/NM/TX, acquires 2 or more semi-auto rifles chambered in a caliber larger than .22, within 5 business days.

Typically, the BATFE will initially contact the FFL and inquiry with the FFL if the transfers seemed suspicious, out-of-the ordinary, and/or the reason for the transfers.

If the FFL tells the BATFE that the transfers seemed hinky/suspicious, then the BATFE will look into the matter further. During this part of their investigation, they may contact/interview the buyer.

As long as your FFL likes you and doesn't throw you under the bus, there is a 99% chance, you will not be contacted by the BATFE.

If your FFL tells the BATFE that you are acquiring firearms for resell and are actively flipping firearms, then there is a chance the BATFE will contact you.
^Could be a phone call, could be a request to meet them at their office, could be an in-home visit, or could be a search warrant/raid.

Thanks for the thorough response. I’m set to pick up 3 more firearms next week. The M1A scout on monday from the same FFL i picked up the 3 handguns last week, and the XDS and M1A Standard on Thursday from a different FFL in OC. If i pick up both M1A’s within 5 days of each other but from different FFL’s, does that still alert the BATFE?
