Why don't you ask the person posting the ad? That said, you can always request a manager if needed.

I pulled a for sale ad today because I was tired of scammers and tire kickers. I don’t need the money and if it’s not going to be an easy local sale I don’t want to deal with a bunch of stupid questions I already answered in the original post. I get the frustration of the sellers. The only pm I want is “how do I send money”.

I don't personally use this tactic but I see it all the time. At the end of the day, money talks and if you can find a buyer willing to pay your asking price, that's all that matters.
        Fixed it for you.

I get it, it means your not actively selling it anymore. Your not going to bump the thread or pay attention to it, pretty much means the gun is off the market as far as the seller is concerned.

                No.
It really means the seller is butt-hurt and is taking his ball home.

So the gun wasn’t in the safe?

It’s a figurative description to make the conversation feel like you’re at an old school gun show and the gun is out on the table in front of you and you’ve got hands and eyes on it.

“I’ll let it go for $XXX or it’s going back in the safe.”

It’s the flip side of, “With all due respect, the market for those has really changed. Examples like yours are now going for $X at most.” And $X is about 30% below the last sale on Gunbroker.

Dealt with that from several people on two rare old Colts.
