“Going back in the safe soon”

Act now before the Disney vault closes -
There's nothing wrong with that. All it takes is 1 serious buyer.
The whole "going back in the safe" comment is simply intended to create a sense of urgency on the buyers end to make a purchase if he/she is on the fence. I don't personally use this tactic but I see it all the time. At the end of the day, money talks and if you can find a buyer willing to pay your asking price, that's all that matters.Comment

Sales tactic, create a sense of urgency, while you're at it, there should also be a price impression, like this. a new XYZ is $799 retail, but you can pick up this almost NIB example with only 200 rounds down the pipe for $750. Hurry up before I change my mind and put it back in the safe.www.culinagrips.com

You could benefit by taking a reading comprehension class. Pay special attention to the lesson on figurative v. literal language.ummmm, never really understood this statement on gun(s) for sale that apparently aren’t selling.
So if the gun(s) currently for sale are “going back in the safe soon”, where are they now? Lying out on a shelf/table waiting to go to the LGs after an “I’ll take it”?
I understand the intent...hurry up and buy this before I decide to no longer offer it for sale hoping the clicking clock will motivate a buyer to act. I just think the comment doesn’t make practical sense.
We all know the gun is in the safe (or locked up safely) now and would only come out for a possible sale (or range time), so why not just say “only for sale a short time” or something along those lines?

That phrase is about as useful as getting on CalGuns and letting everyone know "I just put an XXX in jail".
We know it's not in jail. We know you think you're being cute. It's a stupid phrase, just like "going back in the safe soon".Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

I bet even after the gun went back in the safe, if someone said "Do you still have it? I am interested" the gun would be removed from the safe and sold.Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty.

Going back in the safe soon = "I'm on the fence about selling this gun, but will let it go for an inflated price. If it doesn't sell, no big deal, I want to keep it anyway. "
Intent is to create urgency and perceived leverage to the seller.Comment
