FIFY, because the names are fake and will change but the scam remains the same.

Is Clarance Mayor his CG username or his fake real name?

Nobody listed here with that name, maybe banned already.

Did the seller have feedback? When did they join? Those are the first two things I look at. Especially if I have to send money. I know we all get excited when we see a deal. Only way to stop these scammers is to not make it worth their time. Sorry to hear you lost out.

                  Sorry to hear that.

Like some folks already stated, if he has no feedback and signed up in June 2020 I would be cautious.

If he was a member of this forum post his screen name so everybody can identify him, no exposure is same as didn't happen. As has been mentioned in this thread and previous threads about same subject, low post count, no itrader rating can should be grounds for caution, beyond that I have found that direct contact as in a verbal phone call can usually help. The scammers usually don't want to talk like humans. This method I can not prove works but I'm confident it saved my arse in atleast 3 possible scams.

There has to be some recourse, I mean the venmo he used is connected to a real bank account somewhere. Would it take a lawsuit and subpoenas to get that information from venmo?

It happens. Sometimes you roll the dice. All you can do is to try to limit your exposure.

I jumped on a JP Rifle. I sent the guy like $250. Everything worked out but I was able to take a $250 hit in worse case scenario.

                        It sucks man.
