Make it featureless and then you can use a standard magazine release.

Do you mean you are buying a mag locked rifle, and you want to know what you need to make it not mag locked?

I think it's just the rear takedown pin and bolt catch. Should be cheap to buy those. Try to find a video of the installation for your mag lock and see what parts they remove... that might be the easiest way to know for sure.

Are you going to use the Promag fixed mag next? Featureless?

To remove the mag lock, you need a bolt catch assembly and rear takedown pin.

To make it legal after removing the mag lock, you need to remove the flash suppressor, pistol grip, and make the stock non-collapsible. You can put a muzzle brake on, a featureless grip, and a stock stopper to prevent the stock from collapsing.

I think it depends on the degree of modification that needs to be undone.

Could be as simple as swapping out an FCHook, or as complicated as what has been mentioned.

No, unless you do other things to make it legal. You can't just remove the mag lock and use it.

You will have to add the three compliance parts I mentioned above, then you will be legal.

Yep, you must. Either mag lock, or featureless.
