Swift Link, anybody ever use one?

Stumbled on this and searched CalGuns, didn't get any hits.

Anybody know about this or use it. Seems really easy to make as long as you have a 3D printer.
    The info is out there.

There are BATFE registered "lightning links". Little bits of metal which do what the above printed piece does.

They are each serial numbered and have the manufacturers info on them. They were all registered before 1986.

They cost around $11,000.00 Yup 11K For a fully transferable lightning link.

Just in case folks have not pieced it together based on the comments above, just that little plastic 3D printed piece is considered a machine gun and can get you 10 years in Club Fed. Not worth it.

Ever seen a bent coat hanger do the same thing? I haven’t.

They should last for a real long time. It's a two piece assembly. No flexing, as with the plastic printed part.

But. I'm with you it would be hard to plunk down 10 to 20 I on such a little bit of metal.

I know a guy that has one in Nevada. The bottom part is the part with the serial number. The upright part has no serial number and takes a beating as it kind of gets slammed between the bolt carrier and the rear take down pin. He has gotten good at making replacements for the upright part. He has used it quite a bit and the bottom has held up. These also leave very distinct marks on the lower. I was going to buy an AR off of a member here several years back but when we met one glance told me someone had run an old school style lighting link so I took a pass on that because I did not want some DOJ agent to think it was me.

They don't come on the market very often any more. But when they did, the last one I saw for sale was closer to $20k than $11k.

They used to be the red-headed stepchild of full-auto AR's because they were full-auto only. Then someone came out with a set of parts to make it select fire - safe, semi, and full. The price of Lightning Links spiked.
