I absolutely am in love with mine. Here's what I did, and then I'll list off some pros and cons.

    Features
    MI Extended Handguard
    MI Extended Bolt Handle
MI Spacer for QD Sling Attach
Magpul M-LOK Bipod Mount for forward QD Sling Attach
Inforce WMLx Weapon Light on a Magpul Rail Adapter
Quake Claw Slimline Sling with an Uncle Mike's QD Swivel
    SIG ROMEO 5 (high mount)

    PROS
    Take-down
    Accurate
    Magazine availability
Magazine compatibility with handgun (if Glock)
    Handles/shoulders well
    M-LOK
    3rd party/aftermarket support
Featureless (for pre-owned standard capacity magazines)
Long sight radius and ergonomics make aiming intuitive

    CONS
    Heavy
    Handgun caliber

Clearly I love this gun. I think it makes the perfect HD firearm for suburban inside-the-home use, when loaded with your favorite rounds (preferably a 147GR HP).

My only gripe for PC carbine is Ruger isn't selling all individual parts to owners.

I perfer RDS to be barrel mounted but I still want to keep factory aluminum handguard. All I need to accomplish this is to swap the rear sight base to the one from chassis model of PCC. Despite emailing and calling Ruger customer service, I was simply told this part is not available for sale.

They said they would when the PC Carbinen with factory hanguard first came out, but then walked back on it about a year ago. They're making more money selling entire rifles because some people are actually desperate enough to buy two guns for the new rail.

I just stuck with Midwest Industries' new extended version. Close enough, and you get more M-LOK slots/positions than OEM.

Admittedly, I probably took my Ruger PC Carbine a bit too far, but I like it for what it is.

I think Prachett nailed it with the pros and cons. I took mine a few steps further than his, which admittedly might be a few steps too far. I got a CROM chassis and a Volquartsen trigger pack. IMO after having compared the Volquartsen with M*Carbo's trigger upgrades, they are pretty comparable if u get every upgrade that M*Carbo offers to the trigger.

As for the CROM, IMO it is overpriced for what I got it for, the ambi mag release. The non-reversible left-side mag release just barely got on my nerves enough that I decided to get the CROM, I prefer AR controls since I'm used to them.

Fun gun that is a good choice to train a new shooter with.

Would the same rifle without the takedown feature be more accurate or reliable?

The utility of the PCC should outweigh concerns over the subjective aesthetics of it. I am reminded of all the pushback against featureless AR's from people who preferred a neutered weapon because it looked more tactical.

A non takedown would allow the rear peep sight to be moved further back on the receiver. From what I understand, both sights are on the front half of the rifle because the takedown feature causes the rifle not to be able to lock up %100 in the same position each time it's assembled. This would cause the sights to be out of alignment.

my 12 year old shoots it in IDPA and USPSA

many thousands through the gun with no issues, except we did manage to loose the front sight at a UML match, we shared the gun

                    go with these upgrades

Disappointed at Ruger for that. Even tried "Tell the CEO" option on Ruger's website before that option was suspended. Got no reply.

It's be NICE if they dropped a magwell for the 92FS/M9 Mags!!!

Since I am not a Glock owner, so I can't try a bunch of Glock*, Gen*, which are incompatible with the PC carbine?
