SSE AR pistol (factory build) legal as semi auto?

There have been a bunch of posts about AR pistols. Most of my questions have been addressed - thank you CG! But I still have one question...

If someone purchased a factory built semi auto AR pistol via the single shot exemption (way back in 2014?) is it legal now if it has a fixed mag??

I was recently told that because it was converted before the law change, it’s legal. Makes sense to me. Any way I can be sure? Not sure where to look.

When it was DROSed is what makes the difference. If it was in the state before the new law change went in then it is grandfathered for the most part. After that it is just a PPT used gun so nobody cares.

BUT if you bring one in now, I think it has to stay single shot and no semi auto.


And yeah, it WILL need to have a fixed mag. I think they ALL had to have the fixed mags since they are considered assault weapons if they are detachable and not kept within the handle.

I think I might have read something different about AK pistols though. I am trying to remember what it was. There is a difference between an AR Pistol and an AK pistol I thought. Now that I am thinking about it I think I might be wrong, but I recently converted one and then thought that it was STILL illegal- OH no, it is a mag thing only. Nevermind. Running regular mags it is illegal, only with a locked mag is it legal. Stupid state...
