I posted a WTB thread on some off roster handguns and got a response to communicate through email. After exchanging a couple of emails, the seller and I agreed on a date to meet up. They asked if I had a valid ID and HSC, which I said yes. They said that is good enough. Everything was fine and the seller was pretty chill until I asked what store are we going to do the transfer at, they reply "no store". . So I then ask if they are an FFL which they reply "no" and then decides to cancel everything. Now they say it is too much hassle and won't deal anymore for some reason. They also moved out of state but are home in California for the time being.

They have a pretty nice Itrader rating too and so I thought this was going to be a good transaction.

You said the seller emailed you outside of CalGuns. Did he also contact you thru a PM here on CalGuns?

Anyone can say they are user ID such and such with a high iTrade count. To verify, they should also contact you thru this forum. Do you have the email address of the person who contacted you?

That's wierd. Especially from someone with a high itrader rating. I'm at a loss for what's going on there. I mean scam/robbery is definantly a possibility.

From what you said it sounds like they first messaged you on calguns. What kind of itrader rating we talking about? 1-5, 10-30, 31+? What's their join date? Cause I think a fraud could.start multiple accounts and give I trader rating to themselves. If theyve been a member here for years with years of deals....less likely.

Dude, Bain....they busted a calgunner in some kind of late night-hotel sting and made him or her turn over the account. Easy pesy.
Obviously a late night no tell motel gay thing.
