    SCAMMER ALERT!!

I was messaged by user name ALLAN WALKER referring me to a Mike that has items for sale.

I contacted Mike via email that Allan provided. Mike responds within minutes and emailed back and fourth to settle the deal for the Surefire transaction. The moment after I transfer funds to him, he stopped replying and replied a day later saying he didn't receive the money. I reply to him asking for tracking number...another day goes by and then replies, I haven't didn't receive the money on time so I didn't mail it. "I will mail it this morning" He says.

I send me another email asking if he's mailed it yet, no response.

I can't 100% confirm no deny yet, however do you guys feel like there's a red flag? Let me know your thoughts

      Hmmm.

Allan Walker, 0 posts. Joined 5-18.

Though I'm hopeful it goes through, I wouldn't hold my breath on a good outcome...

Not much specifics, he just replied to my post for WTB. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt so I didn't question much of it at the time. But the fact that he was so communicative before I bought it and then replies at 1 day later increment after I sent the payment...red flags for me. I'll give him another day before filing claim with my bank

@divingin. EXACTLY! I'm probably the first person he tried scamming and unfortunately he succeeded if that was his intent. So I just wanted to raise awareness for everyone

As a seller who recently got scammed by a buyer on eBay, to me, this just smells super fishy. I would go ahead and file the claim with your bank, and move along.

A join date of 5/18/2020 is super suspicious.

ETA: Allan Walker is now perma banned. Suggest that members only deal with other registered members who are active and have post histories.

Op this is a scam and you should be working with the bank to get the money back now.

There was a thread around here from not to long ago with this exact same situation. the guy always goes by a different name, but it is always his friend mike that has the item.

It is the exact same scam that has been happening on other forums as well.

Exactly why paypal with seller fee is good, even if you pay the fee. Easy to get paypal to retract it.

Payment through credit card is nice too, dispute it and call it a day.

Sounds a LOT like this scam:

Wow can't believe I got scammed...and my bank said they're not responsible and can file a claim and freeze the other party's account. But looks like I'm $200 in the hole. Lesson learned
