I'm a member at Insight Shooting Range in Artesia because it's the closest of the three. I hear it gets crowded on the weekend but I only go during the day on weekdays. One advantage is that rifles are allowed.

I called last week and got no answer. Now that LA County has extended the panic until July 30th I don't know when they will be open.
Gangsta paradise on weekends. Vatos Locos forever ese.

Seriously? I've never gone on the weekend but that would make sense considering the area.
I've lived in Southeast County most of my adult life. For over twenty years I've lived in PVN, Peaceful Valley Norwalk.
If I go in on a Saturday I may run into someone I know.

This! Buy a 4wd vehicle, spend a little while longer driving and enjoy some freedom and solitude. Early birds avoid the wind but if you're shooting less than 100m then it doesn't really matter.

I'm surprised to hear that some indoor ranges allow draw from holster, They're a lot more easy going than the indoor ranges I've been to. I agree that most indoor ranges in urban areas can have some sketchy looking people shooting next to you. IMO an indoor range allowing rifles is not a good thing, wayyy too loud.

Best range I've ever been to was in northern Idaho, it was very similar to the range in that scene from Jack Reacher. Having shot in the desert all my life, it was just really nice to shoot at dirt/grass berms and not worry about ricochets.

I used to live in HG . I saw some HG homies run into some Rata13 homies in the parking lot once . One group walking out the other walking in. Of course they are just renters so no gunplay in the parking lot . Just hard looks and sign flashing and talking ****.

Yeah, my neighborhood is mostly homeowners and it's pretty quiet around here. But out on Pioneer Blvd. there are some bangers in the apartment complexes.
When Insight reopens I'll pay attention to who shoots during the day on weekdays. Since I'm retired that's the only time I'll be going there.

-They have 25, 50, and 100 yard lanes.
-Lane rental fee is very low.
                  -No membership needed.
-They allow steel cased ammo (Wolf, Tula, etc)
                  -They allow drawing from holsters
                  -Place is air conditioned.
-Pro shop has a large selection of firearms for sale, okay selection of rental guns.

This was my favorite place to shoot when I still lived in SD county.
I just checked them out. Over an hour to drive but might be worth it. Thanks for the info.

I've only been to angeles, lytle creek, and rauhages. I like Lytle Creek the best out of those three. I'm open to other ranges though if anyone has suggestions. I like pinging steel more than paper...
