Production isn't up as much as you'd think. Yes, the manufacturers are working hard to meet demand, but they're not building any inventory on hand because when the drop in demand happens, they don't want to be stuck with a lot of product sitting on the warehouse floor because no one's buying. It's a tight rope act for them, really, and it's interesting to see how well they've managed to respond to the challenges of high civilian and police demand, never mind continuing military needs.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

that doesn't make sense. do you really think that manufactures will "get stuck" with ammo if they ramp up production say 10-15 maybe 20 percent.Production isn't up as much as you'd think. - answer- probably not.
the reality of it is, that there are more new shooters than before. therefor a higher permanent demand for ammo. so even though the hoarders will run outta stem, there will still be a higher demand for ammo than before.
--------
what i see happening if the manufactures ramp up production for ammo is that in the short run they're able to keep up with the demand and make a bunch of money, and in the long run they're able to cut cost and maintain higher sales of ammo w/o turning people away from the hobby.
IMO
ban death cars! they are designed to cause accidents that kill as many people as possible.

This has to be good for the manufacturers of the ammo production machines.
The big ammo makers are probably beating the old production machines to death, running them 24/7 in a futile struggle to keep up with demand and make big profit while the Obama buying frenzy is in full swing. Over the next couple of years they will be buying machines to add capacity as well as to replace the old worn out ones.
I wonder if more small, local ammo makers will be starting up. Northern California has the Miwall company which sells tons of ammo to big crowds at all the gun shows. Been around for years.
Are there any local ammo companies near where you live?

the question is how do you increase production by 10-20% without buying more people and more equipment?that doesn't make sense. do you really think that manufactures will "get stuck" with ammo if they ramp up production say 10-15 maybe 20 percent.
