I did some research on how to get my CA hunting license, will I be able to use it in AZ? Or do I have to pay for a non-resident hunting license?

CA hunting license is not valid in AZ.
You will need to get an AZ non-resident hunting license in order to legally hunt in AZ.

I didn't see mention if these have been made CA compliant or registered. The firearm itself may be more problematic than magazines if you get stopped.

Welcome to calguns. If you're interested in hunting, a good place to start would be knowing how to shoot well.

So, for the near term, forget about going hunting but PREPARE for it. Develop your rifle shooting skills. Study material related to CA game laws and the hunter safety test. Take a rifle class taught by a professional.

And in the near term, endeavor to acquire both a rifle and a handgun. Acquire a sling for the rifle and become familiar with it's use. Get a good holster for the handgun and wear it, more than likely at home until you learn of places to legally shoot when wearing your handgun holstered.

There's a lot for a new shooter to get up to speed on, but the entire process is fun. Good luck to you.

Get hunter safety first you will need it to purchase licenses in other states as well. Must have license in every state you hunt in.Yuma has great dove hunting. Here hunting is tough on public lands and pricey on private lands. It is a great sport. Been hunting for 58 years. Fort hunter ligget has quail and hogs.;
Some BLM lands hold hogs, deer, quail and turkeys.

OP, be sure to get a holster for the pistol and exercise your 2A and open or concealed carry within AZ

For open carry I recommend Bulldog rapid release holsters. Good solid retention level 2 holster for under 35.00

Just learn the few places you can’t carry which is limited and enjoy yourself

Yep!! That's one of the major reasons that I would like to pay a short visit to AZ. Sadly exercising our constitutional rights seems to be somewhat a luxury to us who live in commiefornia

Yes not a damn thing to gain by arresting criminals. Most can't afford lawyers and don't care if they are in jail.
Besides if they are in jail they will not commit crimes which gives the police less in investigate.

fortunately the covid 19 emptied out the jails so police will have lots more reports to write and maybe etc public will demand more cops !
