    Display rifle

Say you wanted to display a rifle without making it useable for liability but not permanently ruin it. .

Could you file down the firing pin. Or remove the Bolt from the BCG.
    Think it would remove risk?

If we're talking about an AR I would just remove the firing pin.

I remember there being a thread of someone wanting to have a room for displaying firearms. It got tangled up with legalities of being behind lockable glass cases etc.

I’ll look for it and report back.

        Edit: Found it.

Or you could just by a replica
F**k the boating accident. If it's time for a "boating accident" it's time to start F'n shootin.

I saw a couple of examples of locking gun racks at SHOTShow2018.
One made the displays for the national retailers. Stores that had new locking display requirements.

              this may be the place
These locking wall gun racks for safe shotgun & rifle storage have multiple uses. They can be used as closet gun racks in homes, as police gun racks, gun display racks

I have a display handgun in a lockable glass case, I just removed the firing pin.

If I was going to display a rifle and at some point I will, I would not over think it. I would render it unusable by removing whatever part I thought best and would not change the outside appearance. If it was an AR I’d just remove the bolt and carrier most likely, leaving the charging handle in it and close the dust cover.

Like Mark Wahlberg in Shooter. Replace with a filed down firing pin...

Use a 80% lower and don't mill out the fire control pocket. Most 80's come with the rear take down area milled, so mount the upper with no bolt or carrier and call it good.

It's not a firearm, so there are no storage restrictions.

I used to have a Mosin on a mannequin uniform display in my home office. I got a spare firing pin and cut off the tip. Mosin bolts are built around the FP, but this rendered the rifle inoperable and safe.
