Need auto loader 12ga recommendations

What can you recommend for an auto loader 12ga? Looking for something similar to a Benelli M4 or mag-fed saiga that accepts high capacity magazines. Is it easier to extend the magazine capacity on an M4 or or mag fed shotgun? I read something stating 922r prohibits extension of an M4-type shotgun beyond 10 rounds. Not sure if that is true.

Remington Versamax tactical is pretty nice. Uses same gas/operating system as benelli m4 (their patent expired) and out of the box is well spec'd, doesn't really need any changes.

The Tennessee man who won the Knob Creek Jungle Walk competition used a Remington 1100 with side saddle carrier and extended mag tube.
The event uses #4 or 00 buck loads, so the Remington has a strong action.

Bennellis are a good choice if you are inclined to spend lots of money for one.

I don't think it's possible to get a Saiga 12 in CA anymore. Per the DOJ AW regulations published in 2017, semi-auto shotguns must have fixed magazines, which means the magazine must not be detachable without disassembling the action. As far as I know, there's no way to do that and still be able to reload with any reasonable quickness.

So a tube-fed is probably going to be your best bet.

I love my M4. You can get a 7-shell tube (allowing you to load 9 shells total, google "carrier loading") and there are ways to work around the 922r issue by replacing some other parts with US-made parts, if you don't want to risk being the only individual in US history to actually be charged with a 922r violation

My home defense M4 has 9 shells of 00-buck loaded, and a 6-shell sidesaddle with slugs. I hate to be that guy who says you don't need a "high capacity" magazine, but if 9 shells of 00-buck (which is kind of like 81 rounds of 9mm) fired as fast as you can pull the trigger doesn't stop the threat, then I don't think more having a bigger magazine would make any difference.

I was gonna suggest a Mossberg 930. I have the spx model and it had a few hiccups with low power birdshot. Otherwise it runs great.

Stoeger M3k. Similar to the M4 for 1/3rd the price. It even takes some of the same aftermarket parts. Hell you could buy a M3k and send it to MOA precision for custom pimping and it would STILL be cheaper than the Benelli.

Under Federal laws/regulations...

Shotguns that are imported into the USA can not have a magazine capacity that is greater than 5 rounds.
^In order to legally increase the capacity of imported shotguns to be greater than 5 rounds, they must contain 10 or less foreign made parts.

Under CA laws/regulations...

CA large capacity magazine laws prohibits extending the magazine capacity of a fixed tubular magazine on a semi-auto shotgun to be more than 10 rounds.
^Also, applies to bolt-action shotguns and pump-action shotguns.
~Lever-action shotguns are exempt from this and can legally have their capacity extended to 11+ rounds.

CA assault weapons laws prohibits a semi-auto shotgun from operating without a fixed magazine.
^In order to be CA legal; shotguns that do not have fixed magazines must operate as a bolt-action, lever-action, or pump-action.

I have a F@n Slp Competition. It's a bad mother. Found it cheap new . Bought a 30 inch barrel for sporting clays. This thing runs on anything. The shop I bought it from said the couldnt sell it because of the color.
