My cool down period starts the instant after I pull the trigger. Sometimes that cool down lasts for a second or less, sometimes it lasts a few minutes. Depends on my reason for shooting.

cooldown period? When does it start?

Might be a good idea to extend a cooling off period for lots of times that can cause harm!
How do we know the 1st time car or truck buyer doesn't intend to run down pedestrians?
How about the diabetic buying a pack of twinkles ? Shouldn't there be a cooling off period until that urge passes?
On and on stupid people elect these tyrants who's only goal is to disarm free Americans and put them in harms way by releasing criminals.Comment

Did you know that sometimes diabetics actually do need to eat twinkies or something with fast-acting glucose in it. That "urge" you speak of is low blood sugar, and they can pass out if they don't eat something sugary quick.
Use a different analogy next time.Comment

I am still awaiting my DROS after 15 days. Bought a Model 29 on-line at Sportsman's Warehouse in Fairfield on the 29th of March, went in to do paper work on the 9th of April. As of this morning, nothing back yet. Ya gotta wonder if this isn't by design.Comment
