    Would you sell? Smells fishy.

I have a new member with one post. Just one. No trader feedback or anything. He wants to buy an item that I'm selling. He's asking me to drive to an FFL that's a fair distance from my house about 45 mi. He's been texting me and telling me that the FFL is open and doing transfers. But when I call the number, all I get is a voicemail that says to leave a message. No indication that it's an FFL at all.

Smells like a rat to me. What do you guys think? The voices in my head are shouting at me too walk away which is what I think I'm going to do.

Look up the number on Google. Ask him for the name of the ffl and gooogle it. Pop the address of ffl in maps and see if its real on the map street view. Take backup in different car for transaction.

This. A lot of stores and even internet sites have just ditched their phones to focus on processing now

No way, new buyers come to seller not the other way 'round. That said, name the FFL and provide address and we can tell you if it is real.

You pick the place. If he bails, you'll know your instincts were correct.

I called the store which is just a gun repair place which is apparently a friend of the alleged buyer. When I called, there was only a voicemail that said leave a message. There was no indication that it was an actual business.

You are bay area right? Just curious if its the gunsmith in Novato (Nathan is his name I think) as there aren't many repair places in the area.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

This place is in Rio Vista. And with every passing minute I'm about to bail out.

I would expect such behavior of a FIRST TIME buyer NEW TO GUNS that did their research to buy a gun in these times.

Imagine if you will someone trying to get a firearm for the first time in a world where all the gun stores are closed. So they have to find an FFL source that is actually open, and at this point, essentially a nearly off the grid home business is all that's open right now.

Next, since they aren't in the circle of gun forums they only have ONE post.

                        *********

Outside of that, yea things don't add up.

I've learned, common guns are NOT (they are NOT in any way) big ticket items. If all the pieces just don't fall into place easily then it's not worth your time.
