...and just FYI...the detective at the SO blames this entire bit of nonsense on a "clerical mistake" which [miraculously] disappeared....I like my local Sheriff's Office and believe, unlike a majority of the CA Sheriff's Offices, they are good people, supported by a good Sheriff who understands the BS in this state. (I guess thats easy to say though when the system works in your favor...) Anyhow, done and ready to put this one to rest! Thanks to all those who provided insight and words of encouragement along the way.

Glad to hear you got your property back.
I think that if either LAPD/LASO had it, it would have been destroyed long ago.

Fortunately Im a bit more north than Disney Land and laws still apply here.
