Yeah. Started thinking about it and too many red flags. Somehow I thought because the sale is so regulated and there’s the 10 days it would be ok. Also the ffl is legit and I didn’t want to let a hard to come by ppt appointment go to waste. You are all right though. Can’t do it.Comment

Credit card.
Will the credit card he uses offer him protection though?Comment

Yes, he could dispute the charges, whether it is successful depends on the credit card company. Paypal is anti-gun, so once they find out, you lose and your account will be closed. No, you would not have a means of getting the firearm back as the FFL has no means of knowing that you are telling the truth and not trying to scam the buyer. The dispute of the credit card could take over 10 days as well. Yes, people do scam others when buying a firearm, lots of stories of dealers selling a gun, shipping it to a firearm, then the buyer transferring it and disputing the charges.
He can use his credit card to pay a friend and the friend can get the cash to give to you.
He might be legit, but that isn't something that you should trust. You could do a payment plan, give him any payments would not be returned if he doesn't pay other payments. The choice is yours, but I certainly wouldn't accept a payment that way.Kemasa.

He's been a member here since 2017 but hasn't saved enough up cash money for a gun yet?
I'm no venmo or PayPal expert but I think him offering to do friends and family gives YOU less protection and I also could be wrong but I think both of those companies are anti-gun = anti-freedom.
You also mentioned that is post of trying to buy other Firearms but it didn't look like it was successful means that he's tried this before and maybe other people didn't go for it.
That's just the first things I know this but maybe he's just been looking and not saving but as the seller you should be looking for someone who has the cash even if you have to take a little less of it.
Suggest that he find one of his "friends or family" that will take venmo or PayPal "friends and family" $ gift in exchange for giving him cash and then he can pay you in cash.Comment

Tell him cash or you'll keep it up for sale to first one that has it.

There are too many buyers in the market right now to take a flyer on someone who cant do business in the usual fashion. CASH is the ONLY way to pay for a handgun unless it is a very very expensive collectible and then that is almost always a Federal Funds wire.
